But we have to say, we fell in love with our small group events this summer, so we’re keeping it small on our 24 other days of open water swimming.
NEK Swim Week will be open to no more than 20 swimmers each day. (With the expected return of corn on the cob for lunch) August 7 through 15, 2021. (Exception, we’re capping Willoughby at 35)
We have decided to continue our Saturday Clubhous Swim Series, on most Saturdays throughout the Summer, limited to 10 swimmers on any given day.
And of course, we will continue In Search of Memphre the 25-mile length of Lake Memphremagog with the confidence and hope that the border will be re-opened by then. We are offering 7 three-day windows with up to three swimmers in any given window.
Here’s our full schedule of 27 days of swimming,: NEKOWSA 2021 Schedule of Swims
We have learned much this summer about social distancing swims to help lower the risk to swimmers and kayakers and boat people. To the extent that Covid-19 continues its deranged presence among our nation’s population, we are prepared to be nimble, flexible, and firm to do what the conditions next summer require.
However, with vaccines becoming widely available to anyone who wants one in May and June. We are requiring that all swimmers, yackers, volunteers, and staff be vaccinated before you join us. No exceptions. In addition, we will fully comply with all standards issued by the State of Vermont regarding gatherings of fully vaccinated participants.
