Join us on Friday, July 26th, 2024, at 6:00 pm for the Memphremagog Parade in Downtown, Newport. We will be celebrating the Mystery and Magic of our Mighty Memphremagog. We will be welcoming open water swimmers from around the United States and Canada who have traveled to Newport to race in the 16th Annual Kingdom Swim. Pets and animals are welcome to parade in costume. They will be featured prominently and are eligible for prizes. Pursuant to Newport City parade regulations, we are asking their humans to register in advance, indicating the species/breed and general health of “pet” you are bringing. All animals must be leashed, reigned or caged, and well-behaved. Swimmers and yackers are already registered by Kingdom Games. We welcome floats and groups of local organizations, businesses, and individuals who want to celebrate life on the shores of Memphremagog in the Heart of the Summer in the Heart of the Kingdom. This year’s costume theme will be all about Pirates. So, get your Scallywag On and join us to Steal the Day out of the Mouth of the Wolf.
There will be prizes for Best Dressed Pirates, Best Dressed Pets and best Floats. Brault’s Beef Jerky, Couture’s Maple Syrup, and Gift Certificates to Tim & Doug’s to the winners/
