We host over 25 days of swimming during the summer for hundreds of open water swimmers. Many have fallen in love with the quality of our legendary lakes, the support which we offer on the lake and on the beach, and the camaraderie among the Tribe of Kingdom Swimmers and Yackers.
Most swims require swimmers to be escorted by a yacker. We strongly encourage each swimmer to bring their own yacker and most do. But, for those who can’t, we offer to recruit and find volunteer yackers to escort them on their swims.
Distances vary between 2 and 16 miles. We offer various stipends ranging from $50 to $250 depending on the distance you kayak. If you don’t have a kayak, we can supply one for your use. In addition to your stipend, we will provide you with a T-Shirt and lunch following each swim. At Kingdom Swim, we will also provide you with a great pasta dinner at The EastSide Restaurant on Friday evening before the swim.
For those new to escort kayaking, we have a brief instructional:
We are now looking for kayakers in each of the following events:
- Kingdom Swim, July 24th (3, 6, 10, and 16 mile distances)
- NEK Swim Week, August 8th to 15th (Distances range from 3 miles to 18 miles)
- Saturday Clubhous Swim Series, various Saturdays in June, July, August, and September (Each day distances include 2, 3.3, 4, 6.5, and 10 mile routes)
If you want to join us, please fill out the following registration form specifying the range of distances you are willing to support and all dates you are available. We will then discuss with you the particular needs for yackers we have for any particular swim at the time you register.
