Bike the Kingdom

Check out our Video Slide Show – Tour de Kingdom

In 2025 we are offering three great events, with four days of rides:  The Dandy on May 17, 2025, The Moose on June 7 and 8, 2025 and Fly to Pie on October 4, 2025.  The Dandy offers a new, expanded route for bikes  through our World Famous Dandelion Fields of Derby, Holland, and Morgan.  The Moose is a 103 mile “timed event” on wide open roads on Saturday (with a shorter 66-mile option) with a Lake Region Ride, 44 miles to Sutton, past Crystal and through the Willoughby Gap on Sunday.

Fly to Pie is a 26.2 mile “timed event” on mostly dirt roads through “The Gut” of the Kingdom in October during Fall Foliage season.

THE DANDY

Saturday, May 17, 2025 – The Dandy

We’ve officially opened The Dandy to gravel bikes, so that our Kingdom Riders can enjoy biking on gravel roads through the World-Famous Dandelion Fields of Derby, Holland, and Morgan.  We’ve extended the bike route to 26.2 miles and running it deeper into the back roads of Holland and Morgan to add more distance and more fields – A Dandy Bouquet for our Bikers’ Delight.

THE MOOSE

Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8, 2025 – The Moose .

On Saturday, we gather at Mike’s Tiki Bar in East Burke at 8 am with a start at 8:30  am.  We head north up Route 114 through Island Pond to Bloomfield and then up Route 102 to Canaan, one of the most beautiful and serene stretches of the Connecticut River, before returning on Route 114 through Norton and Island Pond and then back to East Burke.  Here’s a link to Saturday’s Century Course Map.  For those looking to ride a shorter distance (66 miles), we start at Island Pond at 9:30 am and just do the Norton, Canaan, Bloomfield “Moose Loop.”

THE MOOSE, is a “timed event,” with some great prizes and wonderful spirit.  These roads are wide and “car hungry”.  Racers must obey all of the rules of the road.  That means you have to stop at all stop signs.  But, hey, there are only three in the entire 103 miles.

On Sunday, we offer a Lake Region Ride, a 44-mile “cool down” ride through some of the most beautiful stretches in Vermont:  Up to Sutton, past Crystal Lake, and through the Willoughby Gap.

Riders on both days receive $15 in Moose Money to be spent at Mike’s Tiki Bar (with 30 beer on tap) and the neighboring Burrito Wagon.  An adventure in and of itself.

FLY TO PIE

Saturday, October 5, 2024 and October 4, 2025 – Fly to Pie – Kingdom Marathon.  We leave from the Airport in Coventry, travel on mostly dirt roads through “The Gut” of the Northeast Kingdom and finish up at Parker Pie in West Glover.  Great Beer, Great Music, and GREAT PIZZA.
