Welcome to “one of the world’s most prolific and beloved series of open water swimming events,” at least that’s what Marathon Swimmers Federation says. This year, Kingdom Swim had the honor of receiving the Silver Medal, as voted by the WOWSA community, as Best Event in the World in 2023. Over the past 15 years, the Northeast Kingdom has evolved as an “unlikely mecca of open water swimming.” Daily News of Open Water Swimming. “[Our] lakes are legendary, [our] swimmers fierce, and [our] community is second to none.” Quinn Fitzgerald, of the World Open Water Swimming Association.
Registration for 2025 open water swims is now open
Online registration for Kingdom Swim 2025, is now open! It’s a raucous and robust celebration of open water swimming, with challenging swims of 1 mile, 5 km, 10 km, 10 miles and 25 km along with a 100 yard and 1/4 mile Youth Swim. Registration will remain open until July 1, 2025
But we have to say, we fell in love with our small group events in 2020 and 2021, so we’re keeping it small on our other days of open water swimming.
NEK Swim Week will be open to no more than 20 swimmers each day. (With the expected return of corn on the cob for lunch) August 2 through 10, 2025. (Exception, we’re capping Willoughby at 35) Registration will remain OPEN until August 1, 2025.
We started our Saturday Clubhous Swim Series in 2020. We had a blast with these swims in 2021 and 2022. On most Saturdays from mid-June to mid-September throughout the Summer, limited to 20 swimmers on any given day. We have dropped the fee for our “gateway swims” the 2-mile course to $5 and the fee for the 3.5-mile course to $25. We also offer a 6.5-mile and 12-mile distances. Registration is now open. Registration will remain open throughout the season.
And we’re back with our second year of offering the NEKOWSA Champion of Champions Challenge, the brainchild of our Memphre loving Charlotte Brynn. Three stages in one day, 6.5. 3.5 and 2 miles, together totaling 12 miles of challenge.
In 2022 we blew open the Canadian border, one vaccination at a time and resumed In Search of Memphre the 25-mile length of Lake Memphremagog. Nine Swimmer Scouts completed their swims in 2022, the most in one year since we started in 2011. The floods of 2023 limited swimming on Lake Memphremagog for about 4 weeks. Five Scouts were able to complete. In 2024 ten Scouts successfully completed. In 2025 We are offering 8 three-day windows with one to two swimmers in any given window. Registration is now open.

Please note: all registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, The one exception is that if you let us know prior to the swim that you can’t make it, we will apply 75% of your fees toward another event in the same calendar year, OR 50% of your fees to the same event in the following year. This policy applies regardless of whether you have to cancel or weather conditions force us to cancel.
