North American Unity Swim

La Paz, Mexico

November 9, 2024

Kingdom Games d/b/a the Northeast Kingdom Open Water Swimming Association is partnering with Edna Lorens and Oleadas de Luz (Waves of Light) to host a 35 km swim in La Paz, Mexico on November 9, 2024.  Called the North American Unity Swim, we will host three swimmers from Mexico, three from the United States and three from Canada, plus 1 wild card.  Cost of the swim is $2,500, which covers the cost of boat and pilot for each swimmer, an extra boat with a physician, camping and dinner the night before the swim, and other miscellaneous expenses, with the largest portion going to Oleadas de Luz, which provides support and treatment for children and women with cancer in La Paz.

Swimmers, crew and boat pilots will camp and enjoy dinner on Isla Partida the night before the swim and start at daybreak on November 9th, 2024.  Swimmers will head south along the eastern shore of Isla Espiritu Santo and finish in La Paz BCS, near Cueva La Minerva.  This stunningly beautiful swim presents a serious challenge to an elite invitational field of international swimmers.

In addition to raising funds for Oleadas de Luz, the swim is intended to promote friendship among our three nations in North America and more open borders between us.

The 3 US slots and 1 wild card slot are filled.  One Canadian and one Mexican swimmer have already signed on, leaving room for four more swimmers, 2 Canadians and 2 Mexicans.  Any who are interested in joining this adventure swim in La Paz should contact Phil White at phil@kingdomgames.co or Edna Llorens at siredna@gmail.com.
