In 2015, several of us posted the idea of local swimming communities hosting cold water costume swims on or about Halloween with the goal of encouraging blood donations.  The idea spread like wildfire across the US, Canada, and Europe.

We’ve been relatively quiet here in Vermont.  It’s time to change that and re-energize our efforts to encourage blood donations while we also celebrate the cold-water swimming community that is growing rapidly in Vermont and beyond.

We will be hosting one Vampire Swim in the Newport this year at the Newport City Dock and Boat Ramp.  But, we are also reaching out to encourage other communities around Vermont and beyond to Swim the Chillies, Donate Blood, and Get your Ghoul On.
